What would make Kahoot! more awesome?

Tell us what you think about our new "kick" inappropriate nickname function

As part of our commitment to keeping Kahoot! a safe and enjoyable learning environment for everyone, over the weekend of 10th/11th May 2014 we are phasing in a new way to "kick" inappropriate nicknames from a game.

Find out more about how it works here: http://blog.getkahoot.com/post/85217426087/how-to-kick-inappropriate-or-mischievous-nicknames

We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

I got kicked out of the game but then I couldnt come back in. This is not okay. I am very sad and disappointed. Please fix

Honestly it pretty good, but a lot of words get filtered out even if they arn't rude

Exempt Thailand and countries not native English speakers.

We might have a real problem with this in Thailand. If the name is kicked but then student allowed to rename themself its a hassle but workable. If it's punishment ban, it's very NOT ok.

Thai kids are very polite and loss of face a huge thing here, only the most naughty in the bottom tier schools MIGHT try some nonsense.

Outsiders will find many nicknames funny, odd or naughty. This is Thai transliterated to English.

This occurs all the time, so blind you are. Many English words have peculiar or bad connotations in non-English as well.

Yes, F**k can be a blanket ban, but even Shi* could be a name although I've never met someone as such.

Poo, Pu, Porn, Poon all very common nicknames.

Here is something I googled quickly:

Love the kick option just the fact I tell my students it's there deters most issues. However, we have been experiencing a lot of kahoot server issues while game is in play issues.

Yes this is good. Honestly, just having the ability to do it has curbed questionable names....

Long awaited and much appreciated feature!!! First graders are pretty harmless ...but nevertheless...it was a waste of time to log them out and back in with appropriate name..glad this is finally here! Thank you ...They LOVE Kahoot!!! They would stand on chairs and jump up and down if they were allowed : )

This is an awesome tool. I did have trouble putting in pictures. Any ideas as to why this didn't work? Will you have an app any time soon?

Nice, I had to make rules where every student could only use their given name or I'd number to avoid the creatively made inappropriate names

Awesome! That sounds like a great idea. Of course kids will do some of the craziest things when they are on the internet. At least now I know that they will not be successful with this site. Thank you

Would it also be possible to add a "block" students feature as well? We have had an issue with a student texting the code to a buddy in another class. The buddy in the other class continually submitted inappropriate names and was kicked out by the teacher each time. Rather than refreshing and getting a newly generated code, it would be helpful to be able to just block the student from entering for a predetermined amount of time (ex. 30 mins).

I love using Kahoot with my students! Thank you for a great resource!

I'm glad we can do this now! Thank you for listening! Also, would you kindly consider providing the ability to save the data from the quizzes the students take in the cloud?
